If The Cap Fits and Paisley Park set for Long Walk clash at Ascot next month
If The Cap Fits and last season’s Stayers' Hurdle winner Paisley Park are all set for a pre-Christmas Ascot showdown next month after it was confirmed the pair are on course to lock horns in the Grade 1 Long Walk Hurdle.
Jumps fans are in for another mouthwatering clash with Harry Fry, trainer of If The Cap Fits, throwing down the gauntlet following the seven-year-old's second success in the Coral Hurdle at Ascot on Saturday and aiming his charge at the Grade 1 contest on December 21.
Paisley Park is set to make his seasonal return in the Grade 2 Ladbrokes Long Distance Hurdle at Newbury on Friday and trainer Emma Lavelle has also earmarked a repeat crack at the Ascot race as the next part of his build-up to again trying to land the Stayers’ Hurdle at the festival.
