Caoilin Quinn is aiming to launch a bid for this season's conditional jockeys' title, spurred on by a switch to trainer Gary Moore.

The 21-year-old was previously based with Warren Greatrex and rode six winners last season, but is only one shy of that total with this campaign yet to kick off in earnest.

His 24 per cent strike-rate from just 21 rides this season is giving him plenty of cause for optimism and he's hopeful of emulating the likes of Jonjo O'Neill Jr, Bryony Frost and Harry Cobden.

"I'm just taking it week by week at the moment and I just have to keep kicking," said Quinn. "I'd love to have a crack at the conditional jockeys' title.

"If after Christmas I'm close to the leaders I'll give it a crack. There's also next year as well for that, so if it doesn't work out that's fine too. I'm just trying to ride as many winners."

Quinn is making the most of the switch earlier this year from Lambourn to Moore's Cisswood Stables in West Sussex.

"It's been brilliant, it's a great job and he's a great boss to have. Gary's very knowledgeable and helps me out a lot," he said.

"I can't wait for the season to really get going. I'm just hoping we see a bit more rain to get our horses going and hopefully I'll find a couple of fast ones.

"We've got a few novices who are quite nice and hopefully there's some handicappers going for good prizes who I can claim off."

Quinn has enjoyed a purple patch in recent weeks and his win on Barely Famous at Hereford on Tuesday was a third from his last four rides.

He produced a ride of the month candidate during the sequence with his remarkable success on Vorashann at Fontwell this month, when he scored the most unlikely of victories.
