'I love the five per cent of madness in him' - Flooring Porter nearing return
The Flooring Porter camp cannot wait for their staying hurdle sensation to return to action in the Lismullen Hurdle at Navan next month with trainer Gavin Cromwell convinced the dual Cheltenham hero looks better than ever.
Big Buck's won four consecutive Stayers' Hurdles between 2009 and 2012 but Flooring Porter would equal Inglis Drever's record of three wins in the race if he were to complete the hat-trick in March. He is 5-1 favourite with bet365, and just 4-1 with most other firms, and his regular rider Danny Mullins thinks he is finally getting the recognition he deserves.
Mullins, who has made a rapid start to the season with 32 winners on the board, believes there is a touch of madness in Flooring Porter and that is what helps make him so brilliant.
