'I feel he's improved' - Russell hoping there's more to come from Corach Rambler

Lucinda Russell believes leading Coral Gold Cup hope Corach Rambler will need to have improved from his Cheltenham Festival heroics last season if he is to secure another big handicap victory at Newbury on Saturday.

The eight-year-old came from an unlikely position to win the Ultima Handicap Chase under a masterfully patient ride from Derek Fox, and is the 7-1 second favourite with the race sponsors at Newbury to complete a prestigious double.

Corach Rambler will compete in the 3m2½f contest off a mark of 147, 7lb higher than when successful at Cheltenham, but Russell is hopeful he has more progression left in him.
