Jason Watson will appeal against his controversial seven-day ban for his ride on two-year-old newcomer Noisy Night at Nottingham on Tuesday, with the jockey believing he is being unfairly singled out by the stewards after a spate of recent punishments.

Noisy Night, a 13-2 shot, veered violently left out of the stalls and was soon well adrift of the field and never got on terms before finishing seventh of eight, nearly 26 lengths behind the winner Unspoken in the 6f maiden.

Watson was deemed to have failed to take 'all reasonable and permissible measures' to ensure the Roger Charlton-trained colt could 'obtain the best possible placing'.
