Hurricane Lane shines in final workout as Appleby targets second Derby
Charlie Appleby put the finishing touches to top Cazoo Derby hope Hurricane Lane on Saturday and believes the unbeaten son of Frankel has the scope to improve again at Epsom.
Appleby, who is chasing a second Derby to add to Masar’s success in 2018, was pleased with what he saw as Hurricane Lane and fellow Epsom candidates One Ruler and Adayar went through their final pre-Classic routines.
The Racing Post was granted rare behind-the-scenes access to Appleby’s final preparations for the Derby at his private training centre in Newmarket, and supporters of main hope Hurricane Lane would have been delighted.
