Horse Racing Ireland chief executive Brian Kavanagh has not ruled out moving the Irish Champions Weekend Leopardstown card to Sunday, although he did stress that such a move would need careful consideration.

Leopardstown attracted 14,550 racegoers through the turnstiles on Saturday, up from 13,750 in 2015 and the third year in a row the crowd has increased on day one. The Curragh's attendance figure did not make for such pleasant reading and dropped by over a thousand to 9,255, meaning an overall attendance increase of over 600 for the two days.

Plenty of industry figures have argued finishing the weekend with the Irish Champion Stakes at Leopardstown on Sunday and Kavanagh is not totally opposed to the idea.
