Spend your horse racing free bets on Cheltenham

Cheltenham's three-day extravaganza kicks off with an ultra-competitive handicap hurdle, a race in which David Pipe boasts an excellent record with three wins from the previous nine runnings. He relies on Astigar (1.10) who, on the face of it, has a tall order after a 606-day absence. However, on closer inspection, he holds leading claims on his handicap debut after wind surgery. A first-time tongue-tie could also spark significant improvement off a mark of 118.

The novice handicap chase is on the ITV4 cameras at 2.20, where Super Six could improve sharply on his second start over fences from a lenient-looking mark of 123. The Nigel Twiston-Davies-trained grey reached a ceiling of 124 over hurdles but could improve over fences. He ran superbly on his sole course outing, finishing fifth in the Champion Bumper in 2021.

Kauto Riko (2.55) could play a pivotal role in the finish on his reappearance and has plenty of track experience under his belt. He's got a fair record running fresh – he's a dual scorer on his seasonal debut – and he has slipped down to a tempting handicap mark in a winnable contest.
