Hollie Doyle suffers possible fractured elbow in Wolverhampton fall
Hollie Doyle missed her four rides at Kempton on Tuesday after she sustained a possible fractured elbow at Wolverhampton on Monday.
The Classic-winning rider was thrown to the ground when her mount, Archie Watson's The Perfect Crown, came down with two furlongs to travel and was fatally injured in the 7f claiming stakes at the evening meeting.
Doyle missed her two remaining rides at the track before going to Swindon Hospital, where she had x-rays taken of her elbow. The jockey will be assessed by a BHA appointed specialist on Tuesday.
"I don't really know the extent of the injury yet," said Doyle. "I went to Swindon Hospital, where I had some x-rays. Jerry Hill, the BHA medical officer, has since seen them and he is sending me to one of his specialists today.
"I feel fine but I can't ride today as my elbow is too sore. Hopefully it's nothing too bad and maybe in a few days I can get full movement back."
On the circumstances of her fall, Doyle added: "I went over the horse's head when he broke both front legs, which was a freak accident. I don't know how long I'll be out but hopefully not long and I'll know more later on today."
Doyle, who registered her second best domestic tally of 151 winners in 2022, has ridden nine winners so far this season since returning from a successful stint in Japan.
