'He's the one to take from the race' - last week's eyecatchers for your tracker

With our expert race-readers watching – and writing a descriptive in-running comment for – every horse who runs in Britain and Ireland, there are three different categories used to denote those who are most appealing with the future in mind.

Members' Club Ultimate subscribers can add the names of the horses mentioned to their Racing Post Horse Tracker and will then receive email alerts when they are entered or declared again.

On their next start, the horses will be flagged in Signposts, which can be found in the Racing Post newspaper or online as part of Members' Club on raceday.

Non-members can sign up here to get the tracker, race replays and in-depth race analysis, as well as exclusive content from our team of tipsters and writers.

Did well in the circumstances

Evasive Power
Fourth, Windsor, October 3

Made his challenge up the centre, furthest from the near-side rail, so is worth upgrading. Now 17lb below his last winning mark, he finished off strongly and is one to keep on side.

My Silent Song
Second, Pontefract, October 3

Bidding to make it 3-3 over this course and distance, was set a fair bit to do and deserves credit for finishing as close as she did to the prominently ridden winner. She remains worth a try over 1m2f.

Hamaki
Third, Windsor, October 3

Shaped second best considering he came from further back than the first two. It's unlikely that he's finished improving and a return to 1m4f on a galloping track will suit him.

Stormbreaker
Fifth, Goodwood, October 9

Returning to grass, he would have been closer had he been able to navigate a clear path in the home straight and is likely still in good form.

Eyecatcher

Artisand
Fourth, Brighton, October 4

Cost €17,000 as a yearling and is a half-brother to a French 10.5f winner. Caught the eye, despite greenness on his debut, and he's the one to take from the race. He'll be suited by middle distances and he's sure to improve and win races. He's in at Wolverhampton on Wednesday.

Agnes Grey
Fourth, Nottingham, October 5

The first foal of a sprint winner who ran well after hitting a flat spot on her debut and is the one to take from the race.

Lunar Landscape
Fourth, Kempton, October 5

A brother to 1m-12.5f winner Cartes and half-brother to three other winners. Caught the eye in no uncertain terms on his debut, running on strongly from well off the pace to take an unlikely fourth. He looks likely to appreciate a step up to a mile, and may be up to winning one of these before going handicapping.

Mascapone
Fourth, Newmarket, October 8

Was a big eyecatcher, having finished well following a slow start and after meeting trouble. His maiden win at Chelmsford amounts to little, but he's shown obvious improvement on his last two outings. He'll likely stay further and looks better than his current mark.

Miss Cynthia
Third, Southwell, October 9

Although easily brushed aside by the front pair, she showed her first piece of form on her third start. This scopey type looks the type to improve over middle distances (plenty of stamina in pedigree) next season.

King's Code
Third, Goodwood, October 9

Up two furlongs, can now be handicapped and shaped as though he'll be of interest in that company over this distance and a bit further.

Promising

Zouzanna
Second, Windsor, October 3

A half-sister to several winners, notably Win O'Clock with whom her stable enjoyed success, and she made a promising start, gradually closing down the winner as she came comfortably clear of the others. She should have learned plenty.

Dream Of Love
First, Newmarket, October 7

Was well found in the market and ran down two more experienced fillies under a confident ride. A half-sister to three individual winners, including middle-distance scorers Thought and Final Gesture, she picked up stylishly and, despite running green, was always doing enough. She is yet another talented sort for her powerful yard to look forward to next season.

Modesty
First, York, October 8

A €125,000 yearling by Dubawi out of a two-year-old Group 3 winner who made a promising start to his career. This Derby entry travelled powerfully and although he briefly showed his inexperience when hitting the front, he ran on strongly to win with plenty to spare. This may not have been a vintage maiden for the track but he could do no more than win decisively and he's open to improvement.
