'He's in terrific form' - international dream alive for bargain buy Logo Hunter

Rags-to-riches sprinter Logo Hunter is on course to chase major international prizes next spring after overcoming a season-ending setback he suffered earlier this year.

Patrick Moyles' high-class three-year-old won four of his first six outings after joining popular trainer Michael Browne from Ger Lyons for just 5,000gns, becoming one of the feel-good stories of the 2021 season.

A "life-changing" sum of money was on the table from a number of different agents to buy the Brazen Beau gelding after bolting up in the Listed Sole Power Stakes in May, but he has remained with his current connections ever since.

Rated Ireland's top sprinter prior to A Case Of You's Prix de l'Abbaye heroics in October, Logo Hunter has not been seen since a below-par performance in the Group 2 Sapphire Stakes at the Curragh in July when tearing muscles in his back.

That setback led to him missing the remainder of the year but Browne is excited about a potential international campaign for his stable star, who featured among the international invites for the Dubai World Cup Carnival, which gets underway on January 13.

Browne said: "We'll head to Dundalk on February 11 for a six-furlong winners' race. If he runs well there, which hopefully he will, fingers crossed we can look forward to travelling with him.

"I'm not sure yet if there's an ideal race for him at Meydan in March as we want to run him over five furlongs rather than six. The Group 1 Al Quoz Sprint is over six furlongs on World Cup night. There's also a race in Doha over five furlongs not long after that in March and I might think about going there with him."

Browne added: "He's in terrific order, moving great and bouncing. We're working on finding the race conditions that will hopefully suit him best. I wasn't in a rush in terms of getting him back but he's back in roughly five weeks and has done plenty of cantering."

Dermot Weld has revealed that two-time Irish St Leger heroine Search For A Song will stay in training for 2022 as a six-year-old, although it remains unclear whether she will travel to Dubai after featuring among the carnival invites.

"No decision has been made yet on Dubai but what has been decided is that she will stay in training for next year," said Weld. "We're looking forward to the season ahead with her. The Irish St Leger will be on her agenda once again."

Search For A Song ended the 2021 season on a mark of 115 after landing the Group 3 Loughbrown Stakes by nine and a half lengths in September, before finishing fourth in the Group 1 Prix Royal-Oak a month later.
