St Leger winner Eldar Eldarov has been given the green light to tackle his elders for the first time in the Group 2 Qipco British Champions Long Distance Cup at Ascot on Saturday.

The son of Dubawi's participation had been in doubt, with trainer Roger Varian and owners KHK Racing also considering the Group 1 Royal Oak at Longchamp on Sunday week for their Classic winner.

Eldar Eldarov, who made a winning debut as a two-year-old at Nottingham almost a year ago to the day, has improved as he has gone up in trip this season.
