Billy Lee was 50-1 to be crowned Ireland's champion jockey for the first time at the start of the season but he is now into 11-4 as he continues to set a scorching pace and trainers Paddy Twomey and Ken Condon are convinced he has what it takes to stay in front.

Lee has been in fine form of late with ten winners in the last fortnight and that hot streak has kept title-holder Colin Keane at arm's length. He currently leads the three-time champion by four winners – 49-45.

Twomey has supplied Lee with 17 of his 49 winners, most notably La Petite Coco in the Group 1 Pretty Polly Stakes at the Curragh last month, and the pair are currently operating at a strike-rate of 35 per cent, showing a €12.46 level stakes profit for every €1 staked.
