'He's classy and loves it rattling fast' - the key quotes for Wednesday's action

After a brilliant opening day at Goodwood, Wednesday brings us the unbeaten machine that is Baaeed, while the Galway Plate takes centre stage on day three at the Galway festival. Here we pick out six key quotes from trainers about their runners . . .

Wednesday racecards| Big-race tips| Watch In The Know

1.50 Goodwood: Coral Beaten-By-A-Length Free Bet Handicap, 1m4f

George Baker, trainer of Surrey Mist:

"I've been delighted with Surrey Mist this whole year. Things haven't quite dropped right for him in the last couple of runs but with the step up to a mile and a half and Hollie Doyle on board for the first time, we're hopeful for a big run."

Forecast SP: 12-1

2.25 Goodwood: Whispering Angel Oak Tree Stakes, 7f

Ed Walker, trainer of Primo Bacio:

"This is a good opening for Primo Bacio to win her first Group race. She's dropping down in grade after finishing fourth in the Falmouth. We think seven furlongs could be her trip."

Forecast SP: 8-1

3.00 Goodwood: Markel Molecomb Stakes, 5f

Dave Loughnane, trainer of Walbank:

"He's not done anything wrong all season, he has a lot of ability and we couldn't be happier with him coming into Goodwood. He's been just a big baby in his races so far but I really think Royal Ascot made a man out of him, he's come out of the race really well."

Forecast SP: 3-1

3.35 Goodwood: Qatar Sussex Stakes, mile

Charlie Appleby, trainer of Modern Games:

"The step back up in trip is going to suit him, and the quick ground will also be in his favour. He loves it rattling fast. He's a very classy colt, he's a multiple Group 1 winner, and a sharp track such as Goodwood will pose no problem when you recall how he handled Del Mar. He will give a good account of himself."

Forecast SP: 16-1

6.10 Galway: Free Jackpot All Customers At Tote.ie Irish EBF Mares Handicap Hurdle, 2m½f

Joseph O'Brien, trainer of Lunar Display:

"She has been a very consistent mare over the last year or so. She drops back down in class for this and we're hoping for a big run from her."

Forecast SP: 20-1

6.40 Galway: Tote Galway Plate, 2m6½f

Pat Fahy, trainer of Castlegrace Paddy:

"He's been great since he won on the Flat at Killarney. He's schooled well and everything has gone well since. You don't beat a Gold Cup winner [A Plus Tard] without having a bit of class. When he gets his ground, he just wings his fences. We have trained him for this and I think he'll stay. We'll be riding him to get the trip."

Forecast SP: 33-1
