Henry de Bromhead: A Plus Tard in 'great form' but testing ground a concern

Henry de Bromhead has admitted the prospect of testing conditions at Haydock are "a concern" before odds-on favourite A Plus Tard's bid for back-to-back wins in the Betfair Chase on Saturday.

Persistent rain hit the track on Thursday, changing the ground to soft on the chase course by Friday morning. Another 3mm is forecast through Friday although Saturday promises to be drier.

De Bromhead committed last season’s Cheltenham Gold Cup winner to the Grade 1 following a drift on the exchanges on Wednesday evening that led to speculation he might not be declared.
