Henderson positive about McManus challenger Chantry House for King George
After a superb weekend on the track with runners in the famous green and gold hoops, Nicky Henderson is targeting more big-race glory for JP McManus and the top trainer reports his leading King George VI Chase hope Chantry House to be working “extremely well” ahead of his crunch clash with some of Britain and Ireland's best chasers on December 26.
The Ladbrokes-sponsored King George is one of the few major jumps prizes missing from the leading owner's glittering trophy cabinet, with Henderson determined "to put that right" next weekend.
The pair enjoyed two Graded triumphs together at Ascot on Friday and Saturday with Jonbon and Champ both recording rousing victories and attention now turns to Kempton and Chantry House.
