Mystery Angel shortens for Musidora as punters seek alternative
The Musidora Stakes (3.10) may not be the two-horse race many predicted with the George Boughey-trained Mystery Angel coming in for support on Wednesday morning.
Noon Star (13-8) has narrowly supplanted Teona (15-8) as favourite with most firms for the Group 3 over 1m2½f, but Pretty Polly winner Mystery Angel is now a general 6-1 chance having been available at 15-2 this morning.
ITV Racing tips: one key runner from each of the five races on ITV4 on Wednesday
An upset victory for the three-year-old filly would give Newmarket trainer Boughey a first Group success, but she faces a tough task against the Roger Varian-trained Teona and Sir Michael Stoute's Noon Star, who are 5-1 and 8-1 respectively for the Cazoo Oaks on June 4.

Paddy Power spokesman Paul Binfield said: “The Musidora is probably viewed as the most informative British Oaks trial, but despite the presence of Teona and Noon Star, the two principal UK challengers for the Epsom Classic according to the betting, the money so far has come for Pretty Polly heroine Mystery Angel who currently doesn’t have an Oaks entry."
In the Group 2 Duke of York Stakes (2.40), Royal Ascot scorer Art Power is the 10-3 favourite to return to winning ways on his seasonal reappearance, but July Cup winner Oxted is on the drift and is now 9-2 with Betfred having been available at 7-2 earlier this morning.
Summerghand, who beat Oxted in the Abernant last time out, is also weak and is now 18-1 (from 12).
The going for the first of York's important three-day Dante meeting was changed on Wednesday morning to good to soft (from good to soft, good in places) after 7mm of rain fell at the track in the last 24 hours.
York clerk of the course, William Derby, said: “We’re good to soft now after the 7mm fell. It’s a bright, sunny morning today with a bit of breeze and the track has taken the moisture well.
"The forecast is for it to be largely dry today with the possibility of a shower passing through this evening which we’ll keep an eye on."

Despite being only 12 miles away, York missed the heavy rainstorm which forced the abandonment of Wetherby’s evening card on Tuesday after 12mm fell in the space of two hours.
Derby did not rule out more potential ground changes as the week goes on and added: “Poor Wetherby got what they got but we only got 4.8mm from that storm which passed through. It could be that if we didn’t get any of those showers the ground gets more good in it as the week progresses.”
Heavy rain forces Newton Abbot cancellation
Wednesday afternoon's jumps fixture at Newton Abbot has been cancelled after a torrential rain downpour on Tuesday left the track unsafe to race on.
Clerk of the course Jason Loosemore on Tuesday described the rain as "biblical" after 20mm fell on the track in the afternoon, with more arriving later in the day.
An inspection was scheduled for 7am on Wednesday morning but the decision to cancel the seven-race card, which had been due to feature on ITV4's coverage during the afternoon, was made at 6.45am.
