Jockey hearing set for November 7 after positive cocaine test

Former champion conditional Kevin Sexton is the second Irish jockey in quick succession to have tested positive for a metabolite of cocaine and the Racing Post understands that his case will be heard on November 7, the same day as Danny Grant's.

The Racing Post revealed last month that Grant was denied permission by the stewards to ride at Navan on September 3 having tested positive for a banned substance, believed to be cocaine, and Sexton suffered a similar fate during the Galway summer festival.

Both cases are likely to be take place on the first Monday of next month. The Turf Club was unwilling to comment on either case.
