'He should have won' - who made our list of eyecatchers from last week?

With our expert race-readers watching – and writing a descriptive in-running comment for – every horse who runs in Britain and Ireland, there are three different categories used to denote those who are most appealing with the future in mind.

Members' Club Ultimate subscribers can add the names of the horses mentioned to their Racing Post Horse Tracker and will then receive email alerts when they are entered or declared again.

On their next start, the horses will be flagged in Signposts, which can be found in the Racing Post newspaper or online as part of Members' Club on raceday.

Non-members can sign up here to get the tracker, race replays and in-depth race analysis, as well as exclusive content from our team of tipsters and writers.

Eyecatcher

Halondo
Fifth, Chepstow, November 2

He stayed on nicely without being given an unduly hard time and is one to watch out for when upped in trip. He's from the family of Grand National runner-up Saint Are.

Anisette
Fourth, Kempton, November 2

A half-sister to a winner over a mile, she shaped with promise on her debut in staying on from a fair way back in a race lacking early pace. She didn't have too hard a race either, and should do better.

Going Underground
Third, Newcastle, November 4

The son of Lope De Vega is thriving at present and should have won, going down only narrowly despite being repeatedly short of room from 1f out until inside the final 110yds. He'll gain compensation soon if continuing in this sort of form.

Beat Box
Second, Hexham, November 4

Returning from 243 days off (had also undergone wind surgery), the six-year-old picked up strongly from a long way back, never getting to the winner but doing well to pull clear of the remainder.

Molaqab
Third, Doncaster, November 5

A 150,000gns yearling, he gave away ground at the start and showed plenty of greenness, but he came home well to grab third after meeting trouble without being subjected to a hard ride on his debut. He is open to improvement and is one to watch out for.

Nine Tenths
Fourth, Doncaster, November 5

A 300,000gns sister to a winner in Spain, she was easy to back on her debut and was far too green to do herself justice. She did keep on stoutly though, and can leave this behind next time.

Did well in the circumstances

Arniemac
Fourth, Naas, November 6

The son of Fascinating Rock made an encouraging debut considering he was green (missed break) and is bred for further (half-brother to middle-distance winners), keeping on well from the rear. He looks sure to improve, particularly up in trip.

Promising

Kingston Bridge
First, Kelso, November 5

From a good jumping family, he made a winning debut, going clear in the straight having been up with the pace. He is an interesting prospect.
