'He looks an above-average prospect' - nine horses to note from last week

Welcome to Winners In Waiting, a new weekly round-up of all the horses our expert race-readers have noted as being runners to follow.

Our experienced team watch – and write a descriptive in-running comment – for every horse who runs in Britain and Ireland.

There are three different categories, each relating to a specific in-running comment our race-readers use to denote those who appear most interesting with the future in mind.

Members' Club Ultimate subscribers can add the names of the horses mentioned to their Racing Post Horse Tracker and will then receive email alerts when they are entered or declared again.

The horses will remain on our list until their next start, as well as being flagged in Signposts, which can be found in the Racing Post newspaper or online as part of Members' Club on raceday. It is hoped the list will prove a strong source of winners in the months ahead.

Non-members can sign up here to get the tracker, race replays and in-depth race analysis, as well as exclusive content from our team of tipsters and writers.

Did well in the circumstances

Kaasib
Second, Windsor, April 4

An £80,000 yearling making his debut in a 5f novice. He slipped at halfway and had to wait for a clear run approaching the final furlong, so it was a good effort in the circumstances to run on and finish close to the winner. He should find an opening before long.

Mackie Dee
Second, Exeter, April 5

Was dropped into selling company but did well to finish so close considering the race didn't unfold to suit and, although only moderate these days, he may be able to pick up a small race off a lowly mark in the coming weeks.

Golden Days
Fifth, Leopardstown, April 6

Did well in this competitive handicap, beaten only three lengths, considering she didn't get a clear run. She'd been off for 190 days, so is one to keep in mind.

Eyecatchers

Reach
Third, Redcar, April 4

Has seemingly had the odd issue, a 260,000gns foal who was picked up for just 1,500gns as a three-year-old, but she looks well bought for the latter price after this eyecatching first effort, snatching third in a 1m2f novice after missing the break and ending up a long way back. Her pedigree points to her being suited by further, so she's a nice prospect if she can be kept sound.

Jungley
Sixth, Pontefract, April 5

Has a useful sprinting pedigree and showed ability in a novice on her racecourse debut, getting behind and running green but doing some good late work. She's open to plenty of improvement.

Agonyclite
Eighth, Pontefract, April 5

Caught the eye in finishing two places behind the aforementioned Jungley. He qualifies for a mark after one more run and looks a horse for the Tracker with handicaps in mind.

Gamesters Girl
Fifth, Bangor, April 9

Making her racecourse debut in a bumper, she made up a lot of ground in the straight and will surely better her effort next time. Flat-bred, she wasn't given an unduly hard ride once beaten.

Promising

Twinjets
First, Hereford, April 3

Bought for £45,000 after finishing alone in a 15-runner Irish point in December, was the subject of heavy late support on this rules debut in a bumper and obliged in clear-cut fashion. He was impressive and rates an above-average prospect for hurdles and, in due course, chasing.

Post Impressionist
Second, Nottingham, April 6

Cost 260,000gns as a yearling but was sold for 54,000gns last October and had been gelded ahead of this belated debut in a novice. He shaped with a good deal of promise, though, running on from the back of the field despite obvious signs of greenness. Normal progress ought to see him winning something similar.
