Winner, Leopardstown, Saturday

It doesn't take too many brain cells to spot an 11-length winner, but Party Playboy has taken his form to a totally different level on his last two runs and looks a horse with any amount of potential over hurdles.

Two starts ago he ran an absolute screamer in the Cesarewitch on the Flat, travelling like a dream and finishing second to Stratum.

At the weekend he left his previous hurdles efforts miles behind and there should be plenty more to come from him when upped to three miles. One for the Pertemps Final perhaps?

Third, Newbury, Saturday

If Elegant Escape could jump fluently I think he'd have a chance of winning a Gold Cup, but he doesn't so he's always going to find himself on the back foot against the best staying chasers.

What he has got, though, is an abundance of stamina, as he showed again on Saturday when running on into third in the Ladbrokes Trophy.

He's still only a seven-year-old and looks to have improved again this season, so he will have a first-rate chance of winning another Welsh National.

Furthermore, the Grand National is nothing like the jumping test it used to be and, if he could get over the first few, he could give Tiger Roll a race at Aintree.

Third, Newbury, Friday

Glen Forsa looked a superstar when demolishing Kalashnikov at Sandown last season but things didn't really go right for him afterwards and perhaps Cheltenham isn't his track.

However, the way he tanked through a good handicap at Newbury last week suggests he's right back on track.

He was too keen and did too much too soon but he was still beaten less than three lengths by horses who had already had a run.

A race like the Greatwood Gold Cup back over the same course and distance looks tailormade for him.

Fourth, Chelmsford, Thursday

This homebred son of Paco Boy showed plenty of signs of greenness on debut at Chelmsford and never looked like featuring when under pressure three furlongs out.

However, he got the hang of things late in the day when dramatically switched out wide and stayed on well under a tender ride from Adam Kirby to take fourth in a race won by another well-bred newcomer.

It probably wasn't the strongest novice event, and I wouldn't be surprised if he was put away for the winter, but he could be one worth following over longer trips next year.

Winner, Kempton, Wednesday

George Scott's three-year-old has won her last two starts, so she certainly hasn't gone unnoticed, but the way she has powered clear of her rivals off marks of 67 and 72 suggests she can continue improving.

A daughter of Noble Mission, Earth And Sky will probably relish a step up in trip in time, but she has proved well-handicapped over a mile so far and will likely record the hat-trick if kept to this course and distance on her next outing.
