Hayley Turner rides Godolphin work for the first time in Britain
Leader's LegacySaeed Bin Suroor
Hayley Turner made her first appearance among the Godolphin ranks outside of Dubai as she stepped up her return to race-riding in Britain on a more regular basis. Turner got a decent tune out of this two-time winner in a workout around the bend on Racecourse Side with Good Run, and the son of War Front looks primed despite missing the second half of last season.
CracksmanJohn Gosden
Four days after playing to the crowd at the Craven meeting, there were just a handful of onlookers to witness the highest-rated horse in Europe power up the Al Bahathri Polytrack under Robert Havlin at second lot. With all the groundwork done last year's Champion Stakes winner was allowed to glide clear of his partner Master Singer. There will no doubt be considerably more interest when the son of Frankel reappears in the Group 1 Prix Ganay at Longchamp next Sunday.
QarounSir Michael Stoute
Fresh from partnering a Listed winner for William Jarvis at Bath the previous evening, Josephine Gordon took her now regular place among the Sir Michael Stoute ranks to steer this promising son of Dark Angel around Waterhall. Gordon, who is now employing the same fitness coach as Ryan Moore, had her mount to the fore upsides fellow three-year-old Eqtidaar.
MadelineRoger Varian
Varian had a decent couple of days with his fillies at the Craven meeting and was out early to acquaint this speedy type with the undulations on Racecourse Side, in advance of her intended reappearance in the Qipco 1,000 Guineas on May 6. The daughter of Kodiac was Group 1-placed when third in the Cheveley Park Stakes last autumn and may have been over the top when disappointing subsequently at the Breeders' Cup.
Big Orange/FabricateMichael Bell
Big Orange returned to the Fitzroy House worklist for the first time since his disappointing effort in Dubai, following which a number of tests, including a bone scan, have revealed nothing. The seven-year-old did what he does best, which is working around a bend on Racecourse Side, and he was noted going strongly with the smart Fabricate, who heads to the Group 3 bet365 Gordon Richards Stakes at Sandown on Friday.
Great Work!!!
Invincible ArmyJames Tate
Hey Gaman's trainer James Tate has two big three-year-olds to go to war with this term and had Invincible Army, a leading sprinter last year, in action over five furlongs on the Across the Flat gallop, which runs parallel to the Rowley Mile. The son of Invincible Spirit impressed in his exercise with stablemate Haddaf and is to resurface in the Group 3 Merriebelle Stable Pavilion Stakes at Ascot a week on Wednesday.
