There will be a small piece of Scandinavia in Newmarket from December onwards as leading Norwegian trainer Rune Haugen is upping sticks and moving into the historic Eve Lodge Stables.

Owned and designed by Lester Piggott, Eve Lodge Stables was the champion jockey's training base, and has since been leased to James Toller and Ed Walker. Now Haugen, who is based near Oslo, is coming back full circle to a yard where he used to ride out.

"I'm moving in from December 1 and will have 20 boxes," Haugen said.
