Harrington hoping Millisle can get back on track on her return to home turf

It is hard to imagine a better day's racing. Not only do we have the Derby and the Oaks to look forward to at Epsom, but there is terrific racing at Naas, including the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Naas Oaks Trial (5.15) and the Coolmore Sioux Nation Lacken Stakes (5.45).

This is a big weekend for Jessica Harrington, who runs Alpine Star in the French Oaks on Sunday, but Millisle has become something of a forgotten horse and will be bidding to get her season up and running in the Lacken Stakes.

Harrington is hoping for better with Millisle who is back racing in Ireland turf after disappointing in the 1,000 Guineas at Newmarket before a creditable effort in the Commonwealth Cup.

The trainer said: "I just needed her back here with Shane riding her. She actually ran very well in the Commonwealth Cup but she was on the wrong side. If she had been on the right side she'd have been involved."

Royal Lytham, behind Millisle in the Commonwealth after disappointing in the Irish 2,000 Guineas, is Aidan O'Brien's sole representative in the race that carries the name of former Ballydoyle inmate turned speed stallion Sioux Nation.

O'Brien said: "Royal Lytham is going to be interesting coming back in trip. He's a tough and genuine horse who should be suited by six furlongs at Naas. He's been very well since Ascot."

But Royal Lytham and Millisle face a major opponent in the unbeaten Art Power, who will become just the second British runner in Ireland since racing resumed last month.

A potentially classy sprinter, Art Power has won his last three starts for Tim Easterby and connections are dreaming of Group 1 targets with the progressive colt.

Alastair Donald, racing manager to King Power Racing, said: "He's very exciting and this looked the logical step, sticking to three-year-old company for the time being while he can.

"He won't run in the July Cup and all being well after this he will go for races like the Nunthorpe, Haydock's Sprint Cup and Abbaye.”

The Oaks Trial may not feature any foreign challengers but it is no less competitive with O'Brien and Harrington locking horns again.

The Harrington-trained Silence Please puts her unbeaten record on the line and the form of her Salsabil Stakes victory over stablemate One Voice could not have worked out any better with that one following up in the Group 3 Blue Wind at Leopardstown.

Harrington said: "Silence Please is in great form and hopefully this is the right step to go with her. She has a great attitude, is unbeaten in three, and I know she only wins by noses and whiskers but that's her attitude."

Laburnum has one start and one win under her belt. She failed to make the track at two but made up for lost time when winning her maiden first time up at Gowran Park in good style and O'Brien is confident that she'll get the trip.

He said: "We always liked her last year. She's a sister to Roderic O'Connor but had a setback last year and didn't get to run. She seems to have come forward for Gowran Park and she should get the trip."
