Hanlon faces hearing after lasix is found in his Listowel winner

Trainer Shark Hanlon is facing penalties including a fine and the disqualification of Diamond Dame, whom he trains, after the routine test carried out on the mare following her victory at the Listowel festival last month returned a positive for lasix.

Diamond Dame, a seven-year-old, won the Low Low EBF Mares Handicap Hurdle at Listowel on September 16. It was her third victory over hurdles.

It is understood Hanlon attended the Turf Club yesterday to be interviewed about the matter. He declined to comment when contacted.
