Greatrex to leave Fred Winter's old stable and Sherwood to move to Mann's base

Warren Greatrex, who became a Cheltenham Festival-winning trainer at the Uplands stable made famous by Lambourn legend Fred Winter, is relishing the opportunity to take his career to the next level when he moves into Rhonehurst – the nearby yard of his former boss and mentor Oliver Sherwood.

Jim and Claire Bryce – owners with Greatrex – on Thursday completed the purchase of Rhonehurst, which had been on the market since 2018.

Sherwood, in turn, is due to make the short switch to the Neardown operation of Charlie Mann, who is set to retire from training this month.
