Ronnie Bartlett has credited Galvin for providing him with one of his greatest days in racing when he battled tooth and nail to win the Savills Chase at Leopardstown in December, and the leading owner is hoping Gordon Elliott can extract just a little bit more from his star in the Gold Cup at Cheltenham next month.

Elliott has made Galvin into an habitual winner, according to Bartlett, who believes his horse has thrived on winning races at his own grade before being upped in class.

Last year’s National Hunt Chase victor is a best-priced 4-1 chance to win the Boodles-backed festival showpiece for Bartlett, whose colours could also be carried by leading Cheltenham fancies Stattler and Dusart.
