Gordon Elliott has flexed his muscles in the novice hurdling division in Ireland this season and he is responsible for six of the nine entries in the feature Navan Novice Hurdle on Sunday.

The Grade 2 contest has been downgraded from a Grade 1 but has been won by a host of future stars including Boston Bob (2011), Pont Alexandre (2012), No More Heroes (2014) and Bellshill (2015).

All eyes will be on leading Cheltenham Festival fancy Andy Dufresne this time around, as he looks likely to put his unbeaten record on the line in the 2m4f event.

Andy Dufresne won his maiden hurdle over this course and distance, while stablemates Fury Road and Abacadabras have also won at the track. Last-time-out winners Conflated, Easywork and Thatsy complete the six-strong Elliott entry.

"We have a nice crop of novice hurdlers and we could run a few in the race at Navan on Sunday," said Elliott, who won the race with Death Duty (2016) and No More Heroes (2014).

"It's always a decent contest and should suit some of ours. I'm not sure who we'll run yet, but we'll be well represented."

Taking on the Elliott team could be the Paul Nolan-trained Latest Exhibition, Sixshooter from the Noel Meade stable and Naas maiden hurdle winner Elixir D'Ainay, who is trained by Willie Mullins.

Mullins is well represented on the card as classy bumper performer Blackbow is entered in the opening 2m maiden hurdle, while the unbeaten Aione is an interesting entry in the 2m4f maiden hurdle.
