The 21st century is not just the era of the internet sensation, but also of those digital heroes seeking to turn their online likes and shares into something much more tangible and human – and so the Wocket Woy & The Pwoducer show is going on the road.

Jumps jockeys Mattie Batchelor and Marc Goldstein are taking their online alter egos nationwide, with the first show of a planned tour taking place at the Albany Theatre in Coventry on Saturday from 7.45pm.

Tickets are available at £30 for the two-part show, which will first outline how the characters – who feature in youtube videos posted by the two jockeys – came into existence, feature behind-the-scenes clips and never-before-seen footage.

In the second half, three special guests will cop it big-time from the duo, with a meet-and-greet scheduled for afterwards to allow fans of the characters to get up close and personal with their creators.

Batchelor said on Friday: "We started it three years ago and posted our alter egos on Facebook as a bit of fun. It's made a lot of people happy and the response has been heart-warming."

The 'brains' of the operation, Goldstein, said: "It's our first show, so we'll learn a lot, then we're planning to release some new dates.

"We'll go through how it all started and in the second half we've three special guests: Conrad Logan, who's a professional goalkeeper who's got into riding, the jockey Charlie Poste and Joff Williams, who's a showjumper.

"They'll be coming in for a bit of stick, and the great thing is they don't know what they're in for as we've some fun planned at their expense."

Goldstein added: "There are tickets available and people can book online until one hour before – and there'll be tickets on the door. There's also the chance to meet everyone afterwards."
