Gigginstown increase support for De Bromhead

Henry de Bromhead may have lost one big owner this week but an even bigger one has increased numbers with the Knockeen-based trainer.

Alan and Ann Potts' shock decision to withdraw all their horses hit De Bromhead for six but Gigginstown have given him a welcome boost with racing manager Eddie O'Leary revealing to the Racing Post that he will train a third of their point-to-pointers as well as an increased number of horses for the track.

“Henry is a top-class trainer and we're delighted to have him training our horses,” O'Leary said. “He'll train a third of our pointers this season, with Pat [Doyle] also taking a third and Gordon [Elliott] taking the other third. It means we have all the areas covered. Pat will cover the south, Gordon the east and north and Henry the south-east. Hopefully it will work well.
