Gibson and Fahey discuss alternative facts over non-runner

The scourge of non-runners in British racing is something that is becoming an increasing aggravation – just ask Dale Gibson.

The former jockey and now executive racing director of the Professional Jockeys Association was far from impressed to see Society Red lining up in the Silver Bowl Handicap at Haydock on Saturday, less than 24 hours after he was originally due to run in a 7f handicap at the same course.

His withdrawal from the Friday contest, along with two others, reduced the field to five, and Gibson tweeted: “Good luck to Society Red in the Silver Bowl at Haydock having been unable to run yesterday at the same venue.”
