Get ahead for Cheltenham tomorrow with three to watch this evening
Chelmsford stages a seven-race card tonight kicking off at 5.55, 25 minutes after the last at Cheltenham. Here are three runners to note
Boom The Groom 7.00
Started the season with two good runs – including over course and distance – but has found life tougher in better company of late.
The drop in class should help him return to form and he is an interesting contender with Adam Kirby in the saddle.
Fully effective over this minimum trip and well drawn in stall four, the Tony Carroll-trained seven-year-old has plenty in his favour.
Aquarium7.30
Sets the standard in the 7f novice stakes after three solid runs so far, including when winning at Lingfield in January.
The Mark Johnston-trained colt showed better form in defeat over an extended 1m1f at Wolverhampton 17 days ago and jockey PJ McDonald will be wanting to make plenty of use of him over this shorter strip.
If he gets a soft lead, he could take some pegging back and looks the solid option.
Spare Parts8.30
The prolific performer sits proudly at the top of the winningmost horse table for this all-weather season with six victories.
After bouncing back to winning ways eight days ago at Kempton, the Phil McEntee-trained four-year-old is turned out again with a penalty in the Class 4 mile handicap.
He has yet to score over the trip but has gone close on two occasions over course and distance and this could be the day.
