Barry Geraghty will miss the Galway festival after sustaining a broken right arm in a fall at Market Rasen yesterday.

Geraghty suffered the injury after falling from the Tom George-trained Cernunnos, owned by his employer JP McManus, in the Summer Plate Handicap Chase. The pair were still in contention when coming down at the final fence.

The Turf Club's senior medical officer, Dr Adrian McGoldrick, said last night: "Barry has a fractured right humerus. He is on his way home to Ireland and will have an operation on Monday. He will be out for two to three months."
