Whether it’s a flutter at the races, a bet on the football or online bingo, the way people gamble today is very different to 15 years ago. Since gambling laws were last reviewed, smartphones have changed every aspect of our lives, and made it easier than ever to gamble online.

The industry is far from alone in riding the wave of technological advances, but given gambling laws are there to protect people it is vital we make sure they are fit for the modern world.

One life torn apart by problem gambling is one too many, and we are determined to crack down on unsafe practices to make sure everyone – and especially vulnerable people and children – are protected from harm.
