Gambling operators cannot say they haven't been warned.

The signs have been there for some time that the industry was facing a crackdown on the way it frames the terms and conditions it operates under.

There have been a rash of complaints in recent months against gambling companies' advertisements upheld by the Advertising Standards Authority because of inadequate and misleading small print, as well as numerous stories of customer complaints across the media prompted by campaigners.
