Inspiral has had a quiet build-up to the Qipco 1,000 Guineas, but it has always been the plan to take last year's Group 1 Fillies' Mile winner straight back to the Rowley Mile for the May 1 Classic.

The daughter of Frankel breezed nicely on the Al Bahathri Polytrack at second lot where Cheveley Park Stud racing manager Chris Richardson flanked John and Thady Gosden at the seven-furlong pole. The 5-2 market leader may well have a sterner exercise in the coming days to put her right for the big day.
