Frost was questioned as though in the dock - and it was not comfortable to watch
There were times on Wednesday when it felt as though Bryony Frost had been placed in the dock. Had you dropped into the basement of the BHA's High Holborn headquarters with no prior knowledge of what was taking place, you might have thought she was the one required to defend herself. It was upsetting for her and uncomfortable to watch.
This may be how it inevitably had to be. To act in the interests of Robbie Dunne, the jockey charged with bullying Frost, the members of his legal team were always likely to pursue a line of discrediting his alleged victim. It will be the three members of the BHA's judicial panel who determine the relative success of that approach. What is not in doubt is that day two of Dunne's hearing gave them plenty on which to reflect.
She entered the room at 10.40am, removed her coat and sat down in front of two large television screens, the panel trio to her right, the lawyers and Dunne to her left. She then answered questions for what might to her have felt an eternity. There was a tissue in her hand, and at times she became emotional, but whenever a break in proceedings was offered, she declined.
