Getting better all the time: tracking Enable's pre-Eclipse workouts

I was asked two weeks ago if I thought Enable would be ready to run in the Coral-Eclipse at Sandown on Sunday and at the time I said it looked borderline.

Preparing a six-year-old mare to return to the track is not in John Gosden's training handbook I would imagine, but, although it would appear to have been a challenge, there have been signs over the past few days that she may have turned a corner.

Like all horses, Enable is heavier than she was a year ago and has taken a while longer to burn off her winter excess in her work, which began quietly in late May and has built up slowly since racing resumed on June 1.
