There was the chance to see some stars of the future on Newmarket's two-year-old day on Wednesday, and juvenile judge David Baxter picks out four runners who shaped promisingly for next year.

Without a doubt Brentford Hope was the eyecatcher of the afternoon and should have gone into plenty of trackers for next year. Trainer Richard Hughes was delighted with the colt's easy five-length debut win and he will be an exciting three-year-old for the spring and hopefully beyond.
