Four Gold Cup entries with the potential to upset key contenders

Native River

It has been far from a dream season for Colin Tizzard but you should never underestimate a former Gold Cup winner and Native River could be a more reliable proposition in this year's race than stablemate Lostintranslation, who has lost his way.

The 2018 winner has a record of 314 in the Gold Cup and was much missed from last year's sedate edition.

Native River tends to produce his best in the spring and therefore his seasonal reappearance behind Lake View Lad at Aintree doesn't read badly, especially considering last year's Gold Cup second Santini was just two lengths ahead.
