Nick Fox, former tipster at the Racing Post and The Sun who twice won the national press naps competition, has died aged 55 after a short illness.

Fox, who lived in London and died in hospital on Tuesday, began his career at Raceform before joining the Press Association as a sub-editor and reporter on the racing desk.

He was Templegate at The Sun between 1992 and 1998, where he won the Coral/Racing Post naps competition for the first time, before joining the Racing Post as its headline tipster on Betting Bureau following the departure of Henry Rix.
