Punter has faith in favourites with £10,000 double on Baaeed and Rocket Rodney
Star Sports have laid a £10,000 double on big-race favourites Rocket Rodney and Baaeed winning on the second day of the Qatar Goodwood festival.
Rocket Rodney heads the market for the Molecomb Stakes (3.00) following his impressive Listed win at Sandown on his latest start, while the unbeaten superstar Baaeed is a general 1-6 shot to add a fifth Group 1 to his CV in the Sussex Stakes (3.35).
The firm also reported alongside the £10,000 bet that a host of four-figure doubles have also been placed on the duo, while they are among the most popular selections on multiple bets on the card.
A Star Sports spokesperson said: "We've seen plenty of multis on Rocket Rodney and Baaeed. There's been a few four-figure doubles on them and we've laid a £10,000 double on those two as well. The Molecomb will be an interesting race for us to watch today."
Star Sports have also taken a £2,000 each-way bet on outsider Thunder Moor in the Molecomb, while the Roger Varian-trained Peripatetic is another popular with punters.
The spokesperson added: "Thunder Moor is a big price we've laid too. We've had £2,000 each-way at 25-1 in the Molecomb Stakes. We want to keep him out of the frame.
"We've laid Peripatetic at £5,000 at 8-1 and we want to get her beat, Natasha has been weak with us throughout the day in that race."
An Easy Game? Willie Mullins pair backed for Galway Plate glory
Punters have latched on to Willie Mullins landing the Tote Galway Plate (6.40) for the second year in a row after both of his leading contenders have been well-supported, with topweight Easy Game's odds having tumbled from double-figures on Wednesday morning.
The eight-year-old was as big as 11-1 with bet365 and Coral overnight as he seeks to complete a five-timer, but is now as short as 15-2 to give Mullins a third win in the historic handicap chase, having scored with Blazing Tempo (2011) and Royal Rendezvous last year.
Stablemate El Barra has also been supported this morning and is now the 11-2 market leader (from 7), while Ash Tree Meadow, who heads a team of three for Gordon Elliott, is now as short as 15-2 (from 10).
Early Doors, who had been well-backed to land a second Galway Plate, was a notable non-runner after he was scratched from the race due to a temperature.

Course to ride 'similar to Tuesday'
Goodwood's clerk of the course Ed Arkell expects the ground to ride similar to Tuesday on the second day of the Qatar Goodwood festival on Wednesday.
Following a dry night, the ground remains good, good to firm in places at the Sussex track and 2mm of water was applied to the bends overnight to maintain that going.
Speaking at 8am on Wednesday morning, Arkell said: "I think it'll be similar to yesterday. Naturally it might have quickened up a little bit, but we lost little water evaporation overnight and had a nice dew this morning.
"We've left it at good, good to firm in places and put the water on the bends to keep them fresh. I expect it'll be a similar mainly dry forecast as to what it was yesterday."
Goodwood stages a seven-race card beginning at 1.50, with Baaeed set to be the leading light on the day in the Qatar Sussex Stakes (3.35).
The going at Galway for the third day of its festival is good on the jumps course and good to yielding on the Flat track following selective watering overnight.
