12.00 Gowran Park

Journey With Me developed a big reputation from an early stage and is set to be make a belated chase debut at Gowran Park (12.00).

Trained by Henry de Bromhead for Robcour, he cruised home in a bumper at Gowran in March last year, the same race Bob Olinger won for connections 12 months prior.

He started his hurdles career impeccably with wins Leopardstown and Naas, but fell at the Cheltenham Festival when Sir Gerhard had his measure and never fired at the Punchestown festival.

A 16-1 chance for the Brown Advisory Novices' Chase, he is set to make his chasing debut over two and a half miles after being pulled out at Punchestown last weekend due to unsuitable ground.

Thyme Hill
12.45 Newbury

Trained by Philip Hobbs, Thyme Hill is the highest-rated horse scheduled to run on Newbury's highest-profile day of the jumps season in the John Francome Novices' Chase (12.45).

The Grade 2 has attracted just a select field is generally won by a classy type – Native River, Thistlecrack and Santini are among the recent roll of honour – and the eight-year-old certainly fits that billing.

A two-time Grade 1 winner over hurdles, he made an excellent start over fences at Exeter and is favourite to maintain his unbeaten record at Newbury.

2.10 Newcastle

Jump racing's most exciting prospect is another set to make a belated return seven days after originally intended.

Quick ground prevented the five-year-old from running at Ascot, but the wait could be worth it as he tackles stablemate Epatante in the Grade 1 Fighting Fifth Hurdle (2.10).

Last season's brilliant winner of the Supreme Novices' Hurdle is already a warm ante-post favourite for the Champion Hurdle and anything but a win would likely be viewed as a disappointment.

3.05 Newbury

You could conceivably highlight most of the 16 runners in the Coral Gold Cup (3.05), but Remastered will get plenty of attention after departing four out in the race last season when travelling ominously well.

The nine-year-old was also an impressive return winner at Aintree over hurdles, with trainer David Pipe expressing some surprise after as he "hadn't had the greatest of preps".

Pipe won the famous race in 2008 with Madison Du Berlais and he appears to have an excellent chance of more success, with Remastered on a 4lb lower mark than last year and joined by stablemate Gericault Roque who is also prominent in the market.

3.25 Newcastle

One of last season's brightest novice chasers is set to carry topweight in the concluding race at Newcastle, the Betfair Exchange Rehearsal Chase (3.25).

Like Constitution Hill, he was pulled out of a reappearance at Ascot last weekend but his belated return is much anticipated after a fine first season over fences.

He won five of his six races over fences including the Brown Advisory Novices' Chase at Cheltenham, only blotting his copybook when third at the end of a long season at Aintree.

It is a fascinating starting point for Britain's shortest-priced hope in the Cheltenham Gold Cup – he is available at 10-1 for the March highlight.
