Wednesday

Boxing Day, or St Stephen's Day in Ireland, is one of the best days of the year for racing fans and there are fewer better post-Christmas treats than the stunning line-up in the King George this year.

The Kempton card also features Henderson's Champion Hurdle winner Buveur D'Air and exciting novice chaser Santini, while in Ireland there is top-level racing at Leopardstown and Limerick.

The Welsh Grand National is one of the biggest betting heats over the Christmas period and it looks a quality renewal once again, with Elegant Escape heading the market at around the 6-1 mark.

Grade 1 action comes from Chepstow, in the shape of a juvenile hurdle, and Leopardstown, where Footpad and Great Field could feature in a showdown of stablemates, while a certain Altior is due to strut his stuff at Kempton.

The wait to see the exciting Presenting Percy again could be over as the ground will hopefully be considered suitable enough for him to contest the Savills Chase. It won't be easy for him though, with Road To Respect, Bellshill and Anibale Fly also entered for what looks an outstanding Grade 1 at Leopardstown.

The Christmas Hurdle is also full of classy types, with Apple's Jade potentially taking on Faugheen and Supasundae.

The route to the Champion Hurdle has not been straightforward, but Samcro may put his hurdling credentials through another tough test this weekend. The Ryanair Hurdle at Leopardstown could be a cracker with Melon and Laurina entered alongside Samcro.

The ITV Racing cameras head to Newbury for the Grade 1 Challow Hurdle, which in previous years has featured the likes of Barters Hill, Politologue and Kilbricken Storm.
