William Hill Nevada operation remains buoyant as more states open up to betting

Gaming revenues for October strongly suggest the growth of the Nevada sports betting market, in which William Hill has a major stake, has not been affected by the opening of other states to betting.

Sports betting is a key element of William Hill's business in the US, and the figures show that during October sports handle in Nevada was up three per cent to $543 million and revenue rose 62 per cent to $48m.

The strong performance was driven by American football, which generated $356m of handle (65.4 per cent of overall), up 4.5 per cent year on year. Baseball handle also rose 12 per cent to $83m driven by betting on the World Series.
