Why stay-at-home racegoers must learn to channel their inner fighter pilot
Sunday crowds even smaller than chocolate bars these days
I have to confess I routinely find myself out of step with much of the population of the world these days. Perhaps it’s an age thing – the natural 21st Century extension of thinking policemen are getting younger or chocolate bars are getting smaller – but everything involving human beings has become a bit baffling.
When was it, for example, that young men went from piloting fighter aircraft in mortal combat to sitting around playing computer games and depilating to the extent that they look like new-born moles?
Even the years in between, when men in their twenties dressed in women’s blouses and listened to the Human League, seem to make sense by comparison, although it was a long time ago and I may be mistaken.
