We’re still mulling over Sceau Royal’s Kempton Christmas options
Our main runner of the Christmas weekend is going to be Sceau Royal, but I can’t tell you which race he’ll run in as we have yet to decide.
He’ll be entered in the Ladbrokes Christmas Hurdle on Boxing Day, and in the Desert Orchid Chase on Sunday, and at this stage it’s 50-50 which one he’ll run in. We don’t have to commit until Wednesday, and we’ll be having a good look at the likely opposition in both races and the weather before we decide.
If he runs in the Christmas Hurdle he’s going to meet Epatante again, and realistically he’s not likely to beat her. If we wait for the Desert Orchid it means taking on Altior, who has beaten him a few times now, but it will be Altior’s reappearance.
