'We will win in the US' - GVC chief Alexander committed to cracking America
GVC Holdings chief executive Kenny Alexander has warned rivals "the kid gloves are coming off" as the company announced a second major round of funding for Roar Digital, its sports betting and online gaming joint venture in the United States.
Having made an initial commitment of $200 million, GVC and partner MGM Resorts International have raised that investment by a further $250m to $450m as they seek to gain market dominance.
Alexander told analysts: "We will win in the US, it will take place over a number of years. It's done well to date; we're in a good position. The stakes are getting higher.
