Connections of the Richard Mitchell-trained grey Thundering Home have decided to retire the much-loved 11-year-old, who remarkably won at least one race every year from the age of two to ten.

Debuting in a mile Lingfield maiden for Ed Dunlop in November 2009, Thundering Home's last appearance was in a Taunton handicap hurdle on November 15 when he finished last of eight runners, almost nine years to the day since his first racecourse outing.

As well as Mitchell and Dunlop, the son of Storming Home also spent time at the yards of Michael Attwater, Brian Ellison and George Baker during his nine-year career, which resulted in 14 victories from 113 starts.
