My grandmother got my parents into racing and they passed the love on to me. She passed away when I was three but still had time to sow the seed, for which I’m eternally grateful.

It’s hard to pinpoint my earliest memory of the sport because I love the history of the game and I’ve watched so many old videos that it clouds the memory a little! I think it’s Slip Anchor winning the Derby.

A year earlier at the Whitbread Gold Cup, on her way to the parade ring I’m told the Queen Mother stopped by my parents to tell them what a beautiful baby girl they had – sadly wrong on both counts!
